Frenchie doing 3 km daily — mouth breathing worse last two weeks. Scale back or vet first?

Pepper is 4, 24 lbs. We've been doing ~3 km in the evening when it's cooler (Portland). She used to recover in 10 min; now she's still panting heavy 25–30 min after, sometimes with noise.
No blue gums, appetite fine. It got warm early this week (high 70s) but this started before that.
Cut distance in half and see? Or vet same-week? I don't want to be paranoid but I also don't want to "wait and see" on breathing.

Same-week vet for brachy breeds when recovery time changes — phone triage today if you can. Until then: shorter flat walks, avoid heat, no ball chasing.
Not alarmist: Frenchies can look "fine" until they're not. A quick listen to lungs/airway beats guessing from Reddit.

Called — they fit us in tomorrow AM. Doing 1 km max tonight and carrying water. Thanks.
